My apologies for being MIA. But I am down under. Not my usual 'down under' haha, but in Sydney. I've had limited inter-net access as I'm exploring the outback with some friends and family. Since I left "the site" I'm really excited about my new ventures, THIS blog and most of all keeping in touch with ALL of you. I have a very special treat for you all and I feel so honored to share it with you. My first blog on here will be about a woman who is my mentor. (Then again I wouldn't expect anything less from Lola & Devon! ) From the moment I walked in I KNEW it was a Lola & Devon event, their signature 'cinnamon incense' (which they go CRAZY for in Amsterdam), the Tantra Chair, the LIVE erotica, the LIVE ice sculpturing, erotic contortionist, sittar player, drummer, confetti, balloons and ahhhhh yes LOLA'S STRAWBERRIES. If you attended any of Lola's European soirees you KNOW the Sybarite Awards Erotic Bash breathes Lola. I've had the immense pleasure of working with her, and to see how they orchestrates their meticulously planned spectacles is pure amazement.

Now residing in NYC with her life long love and husband Devon and their children, the big apple is now home to www.HedoOnline.com. Together Lola & Devon are taking the reigns of NYC's erotic nightlife and steering their naughty devotees to the exhilarating sensual nirvana.

I met Lola and Devon on a beautiful spring day in Greenwhich village at a cozy sidewalk cafe. I watched as they walked hand in hand toward the cafe and literally almost everyone stopped to take a second glance. Aside from their outside beauty I think people were simply drawn to their loving connectedness. It's hard to miss. After 13 years together, these two still look like 'new love'. Teenagers giddy over each other. Lola's eyes found me and her face lite up, her beautiful smile gleamed and she rushed to me with open arms as we reunited in the most wonderful hug. We screamed and hugged like two school girls.

As we caught up and sipped on a lovely Ciraz, the fun began...

LOLA:
Oh wow, funny how the tables have turned. I can't believe YOUR interviewing ME?

DEVON:
Hot damn, she has the SAME old tape recorder. Damn Sophia, time to upgrade.

(laughing) Dev, always with the jokes. Yes, kind of different this time, but people are curious, they want to know about you two.

LOLA:
Yeah right! Who the hell are these 'people'? It's like when people say: "You know what THEY say..." I want to find these damn people and ask why THEY are so nosey and why THEY have so much to say!" (laughing)

IE:
Seriously. First people want to know why.

DEVON:
Why what? Spit it out we ain't mind readers.

IE:
(laughing) Well, people want to know about HedoOnline, the Sybarites, why you left "the site"

LOLA:
Well, as far as HedoOnline~ we decided to launch it so all my readers had a common place to communicate with me, as you know this business has a large turnover rate. Some sites close, some change owners, structure etc. HedoOnline is simply a reference site where you can also find info on other websites, various recommended events, features, advice and keep in touch with us.

DEVON:
Honestly it was a natural progression. As readership grew, I knew there would come a time where having our own site would make sense.

IE:
Yes of course. I've heard your website referenced everywhere from Japan to LA. Where are most of your readers from?

DEVON:
We have readers from all over the globe. Many in Europe because of our previous work and affiliation there, but I would say the core of our readers are here in NYC.

LOLA:
Definitely. We since we live here full time now, we are able to attend more events in NYC and the Tri-state.

DEVON:
True, but we love the parties outside of NYC too.

IE:
Great point. Which leads me to the 2008 Sybarite Awards Erotic Bash.

LOLA:
Ooooooowwwwww (she giggles)

IE:
As you know I was on my way to San Francisco, but when I saw YOU were having an event when I was going to be in the States, I rearranged my flights and itinerary so I could be here.

LOLA:
Really? Wow....that's so sweet.

IE:
Besides, your advertising said you were doing the event with SKIN. I remember you telling me about them years ago, and since I hadn't had the opportunity to attend one of their parties, I figured this would be perfect. As soon as I arrived I could definitely tell this was a "LOLA & DEVON" event.

LOLA:
How's that?

IE:
You were burning..

DEVON:
The cinnamon incense. See baby I told you!

IE:
Exactly. When that smell it my nose I knew it was you! Well, and because I've attended your events in the past.

LOLA:
Attended? Ha! You attended only 1. You worked all the rest if I recall.

IE:
Yes, (laughing) you're right. Which is what I'm talking about, all the extras you used as staples, the chair, the blindfolds, the strawberries, ice sculptures. It was all very 'Lola'.

DEVON:
That's what we wanted. Any event we've done, our goal was to stimulate ALL your senses, this one was no different.

IE:
Well, actually it was. You guys normally do the underground events.This was a publicly advertised event and you had SKIN as a co-host. What did SKIN actually do because from knowing you and your soirees everything I saw was 'LOLA'.

DEVON:
Here we go. I can tell you learned from LOLA.

LOLA:
(laughing) SKIN was the winner of the 2008 Erotic Party Promoter of The Year and we thought it would be great to have them 'co-host' the event. They are an exclusive brand that not everyone gets to experience so, we thought it would be great to give them the exposure. SKIN was responsible for running the door.

IE:
Well, I think some people thought it was a SKIN event not yours.

LOLA:
(laughing) And that's fine, as long as everyone had a good time that's the most important. I did not hear one person say they did not enjoy themselves. We delivered on what we advertised and people came with an uninhibited attitude and open mind and had a hell of a night, that's what I care about. Aside from that, the Sybarites is an annual event, party goers know that and trust me people certainly know the difference between HedoOnline and SKIN. Especially those who have attended SKIN in the past. SKIN has great exclusive smaller parties, the cater to a much smaller demographic which works for them as they fill a void in the industry. Their 80 or so loyal patrons who attend their monthly party attest to that. We are proud to bring new people to promoters like SKIN. As YOU know we tend to do things on a grand scale.

IE:
Oh boy do I know! Remember in Maui when you had swimmers dressed as human goldfish in that huge tank in the middle of the room?

DEVON:
Do we remember? Do you both remember how long it took us to drain the tank or should I say me and the guys? (laughing)

IE:
I think the operative word is you and the guys. Lola & I were simply managing and directing. (laughing) I barely saw Devon all night at the Sybarites. You were running and working all night. Lola, you were 'working the room' as you always do and I saw some testing the limits of your 'off premise' party on the dance floor and the surrounding couches.

DEVON:
You should of seen the view from the sound booth. I saw it ALL.

LOLA:
I'm sure you did. (laughing)

Lola and Devon share a quick look. A mix between a seductive playful passion and a naughty inside joke. It was like everything stopped for just them then...

LOLA:
The Sybarites was a celebration for everyone Sophia. For one night I wanted to invite everyone into my 'house'. Check your inhibitions at the door and allow us to 'liberate' you. We encouraged other promoters to come and network and meet people they never met before.

IE:
Speaking of which I ran into a couple from Spain I know as well as some of our old friends from Italy.

LOLA:
Yes I know. Wasn't that great? Like a family reunion. (laughing)

DEVON:
We had people from all over on April 5th. Everywhere.

LOLA:
Aside from bringing friends from all over together, we wanted to raise the bar and set a new standard in erotic party promotion here in NYC. The nightlife here is fantastic, but in the erotic party scene, some of the events lack the extra panache one should expect.

DEVON:
So true. You know how many times we hear people say: "We paid $80 FOR THIS".

IE:
I can imagine. Wonder what they would say being overseas and paying upwards of 125 Euros. (laughing) So what makes a HedoOnline event different from everyone else.

DEVON:
We pride ourselves in the extras ,the spectacle. We combine beautiful people, live attractions and a PERSONAL effort to get to know each and every member who attends.

IE:
That's apparent. It seemed like you were running the whole show.

LOLA:
He was. Devon worked so hard to make sure our vision came to fruition. He did not sit down once.

IE:
So what's next for you guys? A lil birdie tells me there will be an appearance at the Playboy Mansion.

LOLA:
Damn what birdie have you been speaking to! And was the birdie with "THE PEOPLE" (laughing) What's next for us is the 08 Brazilian Body Fest in July.

IE:
How do people find out about it?

DEVON:
Well, you can go to our site and view the promo and sign up there. This event will be off the hook. Samba dancers, feathers, our Hedo Hotties, churassco, ass.

LOLA:
Imagine that...ass. (laughing)

IE:
Now that I'm starting new ventures, do you have any advice for me? Since it seems like I'm exactly where you were in the past.

LOLA:
Well, first and foremost do what makes you happy. With your talent, you can achieve anything. It's a lot of work, because at times you have to do far more work after you leave the 'guise' of a website or ghost writing. So take baby steps. Set your goals. Envision them successful and always remain true to yourself.

IE:
Your mantra.

LOLA:
(chuckles) Yeah, but it's true. When you write for others you work for 'others' and that means sometimes you write what they want. When you write for yourself, you have to back up your words regardless of the 'backlash'. No more hiding.

IE:
This reminds me of a particular strip club in Atlanta.

LOLA:
Oh no you don't! (laughing)

DEVON:
Please do tell.

IE:
Lola reviewed a particular strip club in Atlanta, which was really well known and gave them a not so favorable review. When we were there celebrating a friend's birthday, word got around that the woman in the blue dress at table #4 was Lola, the woman who wrote the bad review.

LOLA:
(laughing) Oh my god yes! It was so funny. I was surrounded by strippers who said: "What do you mean we don't KNOW how to sell seduction, what the hell do YOU know!"

IE:
So, Lola takes the stage and the club went crazy. Literally. Then she was hired to teach the dancers "the art of seduction". I don't think Karen will ever forget THAT birthday party.

LOLA:
(laughing) Yeah, I know. Me either, besides it was a fun gig. Good times and the money was good. Wow, so glad you came to see us Sophia.

IE:
Yes, me too. I had a blast at the Sybarites. I met a lot of people. Business owners, Club owners, Promoters. Speaking of promoters, a woman from Redlight Events tried to put pastease on me.

LOLA:
Yes, that's Georgina. Love her and her husband John. Their parties are great, you should attend one next time.

IE:
Would love to. Before I forget, I saw a few of our friends from Hot Entourage at the Sybarites and a lil birdie told me that Hot Entourage is planning on coming to the States and you and HedoOnline will be responsible for that.

LOLA:
Oh my God Sophia, I swear when I find that 'lil bird'....(laughing) We currently are discussing it. We LOVE Hot Entourage. They are among the best underground lifestyle secret out there. They've recently done about 4 parties here in the NYC underground erotic scene. After they attended the Sybarites they approached us.

IE:
Approached us about....

LOLA:
If I tell you I'll have to kill you. (laughing) Let's just say that 2009-2010 will be amazing for HedoOnline. (she winks)
